Eden has learned a new game. Once you get her started, she’ll grab your hand and say “Ashes Ashes” until you stand up and start singing “Ring around the Rosie”. And as soon as you all fall down, she pops right back up to do it again…

We went to the lake today. We grabbed fast food on the way and ate lunch there. The weather was a little better than it has been — the temperature was below 90, and the humidity wasn’t oppressive.

This morning when I was leaving for work, I said “See you later, alligator”. Serena ran toward me with a smile on her face and said “Kok-dial”. At first I was confused, but then she expanded on it with “See ya kok-dial”.
Serena arrived at 8:42 am on Wednesday July 9th, 2003.
